Cross Car Beams Description             

The center tube structure of automobile instrument crossbeam can be designed as straight tube, bending tube and welded structure of multiple pipes. The following is the comparison of several structures:

1.Straight pipe structure, firstly, the tolerance of straight tube is easy to control, which is not easy to occur welding deformation, and the beam assembly has high precision. Secondly, the straight pipe has its advantage of defending collision, which can effectively prevent the deformation of front wall during frontal collision.

2.Elbow structure: ① because the crossbeam bears load, It bears centrifugal force when driving, and the torque bearing is weaker than that of straight pipe, and the bigger the gap between the highest surface and the lowest surface of the elbow is, the greater the torque bearing is. This will directly affect the stability of the beam.②After bending, there is large deformation due to stress, the accuracy of the bracket welded on it is not good. When the beam assembly is matched with the vehicle body and instrument panel, there are many matching problems, and the tube strength is not good, which is not conducive to frontal collision;

3. Multi pipes welding structure: if the bending pipe is designed into two sections, it can effectively reduce the generation of waste materials, tube bending is easy to form, and can increase the layout space, but the welding deformation is large.
